English: Originally from Carinthia, I studied physics at the University of Vienna as well as ETH Zürich. I obtained my interdisciplinary Doctorate under a cotutelle agreement between the physics department at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and the informatics department of the Universita della Svizzera italiana. At the moment I am a part of the theoretical research area of Atominstitut, where I follow my research interests and lead projects in quantum information theory, quantum thermodynamics and general foundational questions about the order of things - from purely theoretical topics to applied collaborations with experimental groups. I'm particularly fascinated by exploring the role of time in physics and the instruments that measure it - clocks. Deutsch: Ursprünglich aus Kärnten/Koroška, habe ich Physik an der Universität Wien sowie der ETH Zürich studiert. Meinen interdisziplinären Doktortitel erwarb ich im Rahmen einer Cotutelle-Vereinbarung zwischen der Fakultät für Physik der Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona und der Fakultät für Informatik der Università della Svizzera italiana. Im Moment bin ich Teil des theoretischen Forschungsbereichs des Atominstituts, wo ich meinen Forschungsinteressen und der Leitung von Projekten in der Quanteninformationstheorie, der Quantenthermodynamik und allgemeinen grundlegenden Fragen zur Ordnung der Dinge nachgehe - von rein theoretischen Themen bis hin zu angewandten Kollaborationen mit experimentellen Gruppen. Besonders fasziniert mich die Erforschung der Rolle der Zeit in der Physik und der Geräte, die sie messen - Uhren.
