English: I am a PostDoc in the QuIT group. Originally, I am from Germany but I did my undergrad in Scotland (St Andrews) and my PhD between Germany (Calarco group - FZ Jülich) and Italy (Montangero group - Uni Padua). Here, my focus was on the development and application of quantum optimal control methods. The term “optimal control” refers to a family of algorithms that iteratively adapt control pulses to improve the implementation of a specified task for a specific system. Currently, I am working on extending these methods and applying them to superconducting qubits. Furthermore, I work with different QuITters on topics such as entanglement detection and quantum error correction.

Generally, I have worked with quite different systems, including NV centers (crystal anomalies in diamond), NMR setups (more chemical setups), and ultracold atomic condensates (almost BECs). Deutsch: Ich bin PostDoc in der Gruppe. Ursprünglich komme ich aus Deutschland, aber ich habe meinen Master in Schottland (St. Andrews) gemacht und in einer Superposition zwischen Deutschland (Calarco-Gruppe - FZJ Jülich) und Italien (Montangero-Gruppe - Padua) promoviert. Bisher haben sich meine Interessen auf die Entwicklung und Anwendung von “Quantum Optimal Control” konzentriert. Der Begriff „optimal control“ bezieht sich dabei auf eine Familie von Algorithmen, die iterativ Kontrollpulse anpassen, um die Umsetzung einer bestimmten Zielstellung zu verbessern. Eine einfache Erklärung gibt es in diesem Video, meinen Blogbeitrag oder diesem Poster. Generell, habe ich mit ganz unterschiedlichen Systemen gearbeitet, darunter NV-Zentren (Kristallanomalien in Diamant), NMR-Systemen (eher chemische Setups) und ultrakalte atomare Kondensate (fast BECs). Alles darüber hinaus ist in meiner Doktorarbeit zu finden. Gerade arbeite ich daran, meine Interessen mit den anderen in der Gruppe zu verbinden. Abgesehen vom rein fachlichen, genieße ich auch “Outreach” d.h. die Vermittlung meiner Forschung an die Öffentlichkeit.
