On July 19, the Austrian Academy of Sciences hosted exciting lectures and workshops on Roman times & the Middle Ages, fake news & school 200 years ago, graffiti & plants. IQOQI Vienna participated with a workshop on “The Strange World of Quantum Physics”, in which our researchers Alois Mair and Paul Erker showed the children that nature is crazier than we think and tried to explain phenomena of the quantum world, for example ‘Can objects really be in two places at the same time’?

To mark this year's Quantum Year, leading research institutions are inviting school classes to a special event: On 10 October 2025, school classes from Years 7 to 12 will gain insights into the exciting world of quantum physics through lectures and interactive workshops. The event is being organised by quantA and its partner institutions – the University of Vienna, the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU), the University of Innsbruck, the Vienna University of Technology and the Austrian Academy of Sciences – in cooperation with the Children's Office of the University of Vienna.
